FORUM : feedback on the kitefoil Allvator !!!

“Hello,
I had taken the time to do some testing on longer Foil Masts this weekend. I’m going to take some time now to explain to you how my Foiling has changed with the arrival of these bigger sizes : my use range has expanded to a much greater scale. When under powered I can pump the Foil as I would in surf for relaunching. The bigger surface facilitates everything. I will always put 2m2 less than someone 30kg lighter than me. I let it glide, real straight, it’s efficient and like magic. When over powered, there is also some decent evolution. As I have more surface, I can put a lot of pressure on the Foil to get in the pocket. And all you need is to push that front foot down and you will accelerate real hard. Since it has more lift, you can push its limits. Hence by over powering you can give it some gas by simply using the Kite as opposition. The result is mind-blowing. With the Vmax I try and stay under 30 knots, which is much slower than the Hellvator. But I maintain a better heading even when angling and with the speed of a well powered Hellvator in size M. You see the big difference when I’m doing maneuvers, that’s where I win in comparison to the others. It’s incredible the advance you have over others when tacking, because tacking on the Allvator is a formality due to the ability to maintain the Foil up, when others are touching down at this crucial moment. I amuse myself trying to find a wind vein where I can tack every 10/20 meters and remount 500m. It’s a real fun game between two jaunts, and super easy with the Allvator. The Strutless have a lot less lift than arced Kites and ten times less than closed cell Kites. So tacking while elevated are smoother on the Strutless. But when on the Allvator it’s like dancing on sunshine. Just a bit of feedback.” Foileur : l’Ours et son GONG Kitefoil Allvator. Source : GONG Foil Staff, come fly with us.
