FORUM : feedback on Sherpa WCKF !!!

“Hello to all,
So here you have it, this morning I finally got to test the Sherpa.
First time on the water, and needed to before to not smack it against the concrete when getting down to the water. Here we go, I will give you a small comparative of it with my CM 12’6. My first impression came from the stability. Of course I’m going from 26 to 30 inches in width, which is like night and day. The Board skims the water with intense fluidity… I had the impression that I was going a whole lot faster than on the CM (later the GPS confirmed this feeling!). Upon heading out I was going up the Marne against the current and frankly, I did not have the feeling of ‘resistance’ as I did with the CM. Another big difference, I did not get that trampoline effect that I had on the CM….. and in spite of the extra width I found it more ‘powerful’.
The same feeling you get when you’e on a VTT (Mountain Bike) that is hard frame and you switch to full suspension, which absorbs peddle power due to the suspension in the back tire.
The first boat I came across, the Sherpa killed it in wake that came by, which didn’t just go under her like as it did with the CM. The Sherpa, being a little heavier and rigid, just got on top of it and took off.
On the come back I came back down the Marne, and at that moment, I was just blown away with the speed she gave me, I turned around to look at the wake I was leaving behind, which was confirmation that I was haulin’ butt. I was keeping up up the cadence much better than with the CM. Rigidity goes a long way.
As far as finish, the Pad is super comfy, the bungee in front and back super utilitarian. The only small disadvantage, where the CM wins, is the carry handle that fills up with water. Which is not dramatic of course, but I would prefer a softer handle which isn’t inside the Board, more like on my CM ;)!!
In fact I can’t finding anything really negative about this Board.
For anybody still hesitating… you should go ahead and get one, because you will have a real do it all Board……
Have a good weekend everybody and good sessions!!
