FORUM : feedback on GONG Kitefoil Allvator 80 !!!

“4th outing on the Allvator (& my 4th time on a Foil….. I’m beginning).
Wind 9-11 knots (which shot up to 11-15 towards the end).
Strutless V1 12m with Latte (the logo pleases me a lot and it ’s sad it’s not on the new Kite versions)
(I confirm that the Foil, Strutless 12 with 15kts is too much). I got to the spot: Big sun but nobody in the water. I lost talked myself out of it because I thought there wasn’t enough wind.
Luckily I was persistent.
On the first run I was flying, and not just increments of 50m like my 3rd session was, but flights that lasted over a minute.
I had the time to reflect on everything I had been reading on the Forum and it was on like the famous lambada described by Patrice.
The Foil is super tolerant. When he gets close to the surface you hear a a subtle gurgle, and that is the moment that you shift your weight forward to avoid the mishap.
The Foil does brutally dis-engage in any way. There is time to correct the situation before a fall.
Of course there were some sweet tumbles but more from poor Kitesmanship than from a bad reaction from the Foil.
I even attained a few ’Speed markers’ that let me hear the whistle.
For the moment no sanding. I prefer to keep the safe side of the Foil.
To conclude I’m totally satisfied with my investment.
I didn’t think in 4 sessions I’d being going off like this.
It’s really THE Foil to start up on (because he flies in low speeds and does not react brutally) and for an uphill progression.
Totally stoked for the next session (I’m already checking the weather!)
