FORUM : are you really foiling ???

To read on our forum today: You good at flying?
How do we know if you’re a Foiler? The answer is simple :
Answer 1/ If you’re Foiling in opposition to the water, you’re not Foiling. You’re just stalling your foil is all.
Answer 2/ If you’re using the lift of the Foil itself, then you’re Foiling How do you recognize the difference?
Answer 1/ If you’re flying angled, with the Boards nose pointed up, at the bottom of the wave, slowly.
Answer 2/ If you’re flying nose down, nose towards the water, engaged into he trim line, and fast. In case number one, you’re in a progression/discovery phase. Mentally you’re still surfing : you have yet to integrate the benefits of Foiling and the serious speed it brings.
The classic error that case number one has is wanting larger wings. As they are larger, these wings will drastically limit your carving radius and put the brakes on your evolution with Foiling.
We have all the wing sizes needed for the incoming 399€ Foil. I have nothing against big wings, which happen to be great in downwind and slow swell. But please don’t go off using them for doing wheelies. Fly nose towards the water, push on that front foot when turning and tighten them up even more, and steer off the back foot.
