FORUM : about falls and injuries when kitefoiling !!!

Eject yourself from the board is rarely a solution.
Trauma’s timeline:
– First, you gonna cut your feet with the foil while doing the waterstart.
– Second, you gonna twist your legs in an unforeseen rodeo type fall.
– Third, you gonna speed up and plunge so fast that it will feel like you got slapped in the face.
– Finally, you gonna try maneuvers, and then you gonna twist your ankles, cut yourself and take big slaps in the face.
After a year, you will hardly ever hurt yourself, only when you will really hurt yourself ahahahah
The more you are good, the more you can handle and be used to hard falls and pains. Progressing is also accepting risks as you move forward and control the foil.
Remain the silly falls: lately, an old lady doing sea wading lectured me while I was doing a fast jibe, I talk to her, I fall before the foil, the wing hits my finger and breaks it while my foil goes into the de-power/trim making me do kite loops … There were 10 knots, jibes like these I do 1000 per month.
I spare you from stories about broken toes in wild tacks, cervical traumas, and skull bumps with the board etc etc
It’s funny but personally, I never cut myself whereas other don’t spare themselves.
Have fun.”
