FORUM : ABOUT CARTER FOIL EPS !!!

“Hello,
The Take Off is done in the foam on a small Surf Foil Board when you start, when you’re lazy to row and you start from the foam on the shoulder to get back out to the peak by pumping rather than paddling.
But with the right technique, you can of course go down the slope like you would in surfing with a small Surf Foil Board.
The huge advantage of a Carter Foil is strictly the same as in classic surfing: you leave earlier.
You understand that with a 5’0 Board, inevitably you will go down a very steep slope, otherwise you will get stuck. So if you don’t want to go in the foam, you’re going to have to commit yourself fully:
1/ by rowing really hard, hello cardio massacre.
2/ by throwing yourself onto the slope which is already pitching steeply, which is hyper technical and risky.
3/ by having an optimum placement because everything is planned out to the nearest inch.
With a Carter Foil, these three points become simple :
1/ You row twice as easily.
2/ you start very early, therefore on a very flat side and therefore very easy to manage.
3/ your placement is less crucial because you move fast and you start from anywhere.
Leaving in the foam with a Carter Foil is feasible without any worries, but it is not its program. On the contrary, the Carter Foil’s objective is to drop from farther away, further than SUP foils of less than 8′. And that is a huge advantage !!!
The Short Foil is great for many reasons : duck diving, liveliness, pumping.
But the Long Foil offers the same advantages as the traditional Longboard : rowing speed, early take off, fluidity of trajectories, style.
I think it’s a shame that we’re only focusing on Short Foil. It’s certainly linked to the craze for pumping and especially dock starts. But that’s going to change because people will understand two things :
A/ that not everyone is a world champion, and therefore doesn’t necessarily want to pump more than to surf, nor to throw themselves into frightening slopes.
B/ that a lot of spots are free of surfers, but also free of Foilers because the take off is too soft.
That’s where the Carter Foil comes in.
So either you want to have really relaxed Foil sessions, and it’s perfect. Or you want to Foil a spot with a take off that’s too soft for a Shortboard, but you don’t want to go SUP. Here too the Carter Foil is ideal.
Thank you very much.”
