First Impressions
“Yesterday I tried my new Ypra Slalom V3 in 600 with the Fluid XS stab (while waiting for the recommended Slalom stab delivery). First launch in a gusty 30 knots wasn’t exactly easy to get the feel of it! But after a few tacks, the glide and sensations came alive 😉. The speed impression is real. It goes fast, it flies high above the water, pure adrenaline! With my usual settings, I felt I was missing a bit of front foot pressure (for my taste), though not enough to force me to stop and adjust. This front wing just wants to accelerate, and you instantly feel it has insane top-end potential! Can’t wait to get the dedicated stab 🙂🙂🙂!!!”
Speed & turns
“Control-wise, it’s pretty technical. Everything happens fast, but once you tame it, you’re hooked! In the turns, it’s pure joy: it surfs, it carves, and it accelerates. For those who like it, the pop is super effective, it projects and lifts strongly 😉 👍👍 .
Obviously, it lacks a bit of support at low speed when exiting transitions, but that’s also due to its small size and very narrow tips.”
Slalom and Beyond
“All in all, for me (73kg and 65 liters underfoot), it’s an amazing foil for a program well beyond pure slalom. It feels great in swell (I mean the big bumps at Almanarre 😃), fast on the wave, and ultra-playful when chasing a peak at max speed. In short: a five-star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ foil for big, windy, choppy sessions.”
