Feedback from Jukka who switched from the Fluid M-T to the high aspect Ypra M.

“Ypra M 800cm arrived and I tested it yesterday. Wind 7/11 ms, my weight 73kg and second summer wing foiling. Mast Carbon 100 and new Pro Fuselage. My previous most used setup to compare with is Fluid M-T 950cm2 with old V2 Fuselage and 40cm Fluid Stab.
Takeoff is easy.
Something like the Fluid M-T (I have a board that glides well, perfect for ha foils). Really easy to ride – no surprises. Glides better than old Fluid. Basic jibe is really easy to do because of long glide. Tack to switch probably easier with Ypra than Fluid M-T because of extended glide.
My max speed in lake conditions with Fluid M-T was 40,8 km/h. Max speed with Ypra 800 and new Veloce 40 Stab was only 38 km/h. Stab was too small for me to keep constant height in the gusty wind. I changed to the new Fluid 42 H Pro Stab and got max 41.8 km/h (pretty flat lake 5.5 wing). In these conditions the front wing felt quite big and probably 600-700cm2 would be ideal for my weight. Ypra goes upwind great – so does the Fluid M-T- Ypra is somewhat faster.
Slowest / stall speed is similar to Fluid M-T – no problems with jibes and no unexpected drops. Ypra does not carve as smoothly as the Fluid M-T but it is doable and I can not see any reason why not to use it in waves. Whistles a lot!Bottomline: surprisingly easy to take off and ride.
Great glide and upwind properties. Don’t expect big improvements to max speed if you already use medium size front wing. Size is good for lighter wind race or for heavier person? I presume smaller / faster sizes or models will be published in the near future. Maybe faster Race oriented mast also.”
