FEEDBACK: WING NEUTRA 6M

This is a nagging question for a wing surfer ;): is it better to combine a 5m with a large front wing or a 6m with a more playful foil when the wind is light? Our ambassador François contributes to the debate by testing the 6m Neutra in the light wind 😉

“Here is a little report on the 6m Neutra, I don’t see much feedback about it. The wind was blowing in the 10 to 13 knots range and I was riding the Lethal 5’1 FSP Pro. I decided to use the Veloce 47 with my 1500 Fluid XL.
When I’m riding my 5m I usually use my Curve XL-T in this type of wind. Well, the extra square meter makes the difference in this type of condition.
The start
From the start on my knees I already feel the potential of the 6 … it pulls !! Standing, the wing gives me the necessary speed to generate a good pumping with the Fluid, it takes off and immediately, I feel the power of the Neutra 6. I fly easily without needing to pump to relaunch constantly. All the transitions go smoothly, the speed is really nice with my Fluid.
It pulls and the harness hook is welcome because I think it can quickly become physical on a long tack.
The surf
I try to ride mini-mini bumps … surprise, the Neutra is like its small sisters: stable and flies in neutral very easily. The only negative point is perhaps its size. I touched the water several times while pumping or even while sailing but the more the minutes went by the less it happened, after 30 minutes it didn’t happen at all any more. I have sailed a lot in 4m lately, that must also be one of the causes. In short, a nice surprise, I who only thought about sailing in 5m in the light with a “big” foil, I say to myself after reflection, that finally, a 6m in favor of a smaller foil like the Fluid XL, allows you to go faster, to surf better if there are waves with a more suitable foil, and to have more fun.
So ….. big wing small foil or small wing big foil in the light ???
PS: Fluid 1500 / Veloce 47 magic combo in the light ❤️❤️”
