FEEDBACK : WING FOIL BOARD LETHAL FSP PRO 4’10

Bruno must have been more than just kind this year to find a Lethal under the christmas tree and in addition being blessed with wing foiling conditions the next day and even the day after to try it out! 😉 In any case, he is kind enough to share his feedback on his new Lethal 4’10.

“As I was kind, Santa Claus sent me a Lethal 4’10, received on the 25th, and thereafter immediately tried on the water. Conditions: 15-18 knots, in the lagoon. Weight: 75 kg Mast 85 Alu V2, Fluid in L and in Stab 40.
First surprise, the weight.
Compared to my adored 5’3 HIPE used for over a year, this is a real feather. Then the carrying handle, very practical. Launching and there, no luck, the wind drops to 10-12 knots, I had rigged the 4m Neutra. It allowed me to see if it is so efficient in lightwind. Well no, a flight in a gust, otherwise nothing to do, I do not take off. I take my 5m Neutra, and here at last I discover its potential.
First in terms of stability, admittedly a little harder at the start, but normal, narrower, shorter, but absolutely nothing too complicated. Then in flight, I am amazed, because ok, it is more manageable, but it is the speed and the stability in flight that completely seduced me. At the beginning I did not understand, during the 1st jibe, why I was going so fast, then I understood that the profile of the Lethal is not comparable to that of the HIPE. The penetration in the air makes it turn faster, in a very sensitive way. And on one tack, once set on a rail, it doesn’t flinch, I feel like I’m on an aircraft carrier.
About the switch of feet, well there too
Very surprised by the stability, easier than on the HIPE, quite simply stunning!
In summary for my first session, I was disappointed for its performance in lightwind, I took off earlier with the HIPE, but on the other hand handling goes hand in hand with stability and ease, contrary to what I thought.
The next day
A wind blowing clearly above the weather forecast, and it hits Taapuna, wave session in sight, still in 4m Neutra and Fluid L. 15-20 knots, waves of 70 cm at 1.5 max, but on the reef. Always so easy under the feet, and even more, because the wind is there. I test a little DW to warm up and get used to the board, and again it’s a total surprise, because before, with the HIPE, I had trouble connecting some waves and a hard time pumping, well this is the revelation: easy glide and total fun!
So I’m going to the reef, there is only one wingfoiler, you might as well take advantage of it, we have the spot for the 2 of us, I start shyly at the end of the waves that I choose small, then I grow bolder little by little, and I find myself surfing more inside, until I have to make an exit by ejecting myself in the 2nd bowl, I scared myself given the size of the lip, although I am very confident by the healthy behavior of my Lethal. Then the wind dropped, and I had to go home because at one point I struggled to take off again, more than 10 times in the water because the sea was very rough, and not enough wind.
But what a session! In my top 5.
I remember the ease and pleasure of sailing with this board, but it is clear that it will not be my choice in lightwind, or with the Fluid XL-S, or even with the L-T that I am impatiently awaiting.
Congratulations again on the design of this board, which is already my favorite, and which may well stay that way for a long time. ”
