FEEDBACK: WING BOARD LETHAL FSP PRO 4’6 !!!

Transitioning from a wide to a narrow board will require you to be more precise in your movements when getting on the board. Quentin shares his experience going from a Lemon 4’8 to a Lethal 4’6. First in difficult conditions, then in simpler conditions with a strong wind and a calmer sea, and above all with valuable advice given on the GONG Galaxy facebook group;)
First sesh
“First sesh in Lethal 4’6 after having ridden with a Lemon 4’8, plus 3 liters for my weight (62 kg) and only 58 cm wide. To start, the handle under the hull is really nice to have. Then getting on the board. It ain’t easy. A huge difference compared to my Lemon which is only 5l more. Clearly getting on the board on your knees is no fun at all. It is done but in pain especially without wind as I experienced in this sesh. You have to use the wing on the water or be extremely fast. The slightest mistake will result in a fall. Once on your knees it’s won. Standing up is no problem. Then comes the take-off. And there it’s just awesome. I was worried about the lack of volume. Nay. It glides super well and takes off at the slightest gust. A delight.
In the air, the small width makes the board more reactive, it’s as if I had a smaller foil. You have to be gentle with your stance. I managed to jibe and fly with the wing in neutral again. I am therefore on the right track. It’s clearly a board for people of good levels or like me who like to struggle ;). The goal of the change was to gain low range and clearly it does the job. I just don’t have to gain weight.
Second sesh
Second sesh this morning with a little more wind and less chop. Thanks for the advices on the FB group. I grabbed the rail with my back hand and the wing with my front hand. And above all, in addition to being well positioned between the straps on my knees, I lowered my center of gravity and tried to relax to really stay centered and well that’s much better. Almost no failure to ride the beast. I found my bearings to ride serene. In short, the doubts I had last night after my first sesh are gone. I really had a blast this morning. This little Lethal will follow me for a long time. In flight, it’s just a blast, just don’t land at the end of the jibe, otherwise you’ll make a splash ;).
