FEEDBACK: VELOCE V3 (S to XL)
Test of the Veloce V3 in small and large sizes by Adrien (≈70kg) during the GONG ambassador tour.
Wing foiler: Louis, GONG staff, with his Cruzader Point LW FSP Pro, Droid Boom, HM mast, Veloce V3 front wing and stab
Veloce V3 range: test summary
“After testing from S to XL, here’s my takeaway. Overall, this range is characterized by an absolutely excellent glide. Once you take off, it’s magic. It remains very maneuverable even in XL and with an excellent low end even in S.
Personally, I systematically put the stab one size smaller with the front wings, except for the S of course. That’s just my preference as I like having a small stab with little drag.”
The Veloce S, M, L, and XL
“The S: for me, tested only in wing foiling with moderate wind (12/15 knots). Fast, lively, and good low end.
The M: my go-to light wind front wing in wing (8/10 knots), really good in lowkite and also used in SUP foiling, but pumping is hard to maintain at my level.
The L: used last night in barely-there wind (5/8 knots and 1m swell). Tricky to take off but pure bliss afterward in the swell. Absolutely top-notch. Also used in SUP foiling. I think it’s a key front wing for SUP foiling: easy takeoff, excellent glide, very maneuverable, and pumpable.
The XL: for me, to be reserved for barely-there wind conditions in wing (6/8 knots). It replaced my Sirus L V2. Gains in every aspect (glide, speed, and maneuverability), also ideal in SUP foiling for small conditions, and it’s also my dock start wing (a bit hard to launch at the start but amazing afterward). For me, impossible in death start or rock start.
In conclusion, a fantastic range to have at least partly in your quiver. Enjoy 🤙”
