FEEDBACK: VELOCE M IN SURF FOILING !!!

Speed and maneuverability are the keys to master surf foiling for Clément (62 kg) who naturally turned to the Veloce M. A real transition coming from the Curve LT which he gives us a little report about:

“Conditions: Glassy with super soft hip size waves. Gear: Veloce M stab kite 40 monobloc 70 v2 I had a big apprehension unpacking it last week … Will I be able to fly with that? So actually, the answer is yes …

“It flies, it even flies very well and quickly”

It flies, it even flies very well and quickly. In the soft sections it’s necessary to pump to avoid stalling the foil. But as soon as there’s a nice section it’s flying perfectly. Super balanced front / rear foot, it even accepts low-speed “back-footed” flights. It accelerates hard and tries to fly up a little.

“I love its handling and the way it turns”

I love its handling and the way it turns, much more than the LT which “engages” a little. The Veloce reacts instantly without inertia. I tried my first re-entry and I had my best cutbacks so far with the feeling of engaging the rail as in surfing and especially the possibility of flattening it which is not easy with the LT.

In the same spirit I find the exit of the wave through the foam much easier ‘cause the wing glides without disturbance … I have found myself several times to come out full throttle and just let it glide while looking at the wing like ” is that normal ?? “

For pumping, it’s really not my strong point, but it doesn’t look too technical … except that you need energy + frequency. I had one connection despite some kind of messed up re-entry with the wing sticking out, mega power. First time really having fun at the top of the wave!

“Speed and handling without inertia”

So much for this first feedback which contrasts a little with those I have read … But frankly that’s what surf foil really does for me: speed and handling without inertia!

The veloce M is at the top of this game. I would surely take an L as a replacement for the LT. “
