FEEDBACK: SUPERPOWER 6M !!!

The Superpower is designed to deliver all the power necessary to face light or irregular winds and make the most of complicated spots with windholes or with a lot of current. It is therefore naturally the first choice when we enter a season less conducive to windy days, as Julien explains in his feedback.

“After the Neutra 4 and 5, I wanted a wing for the summer and the light wind. Without going for an enormous size, I was looking for a 6m with a program a little more punchy than the Neutra to “virtually” increase the small difference of 1m². I didn’t want to go up in size too much so as not to be overwhelmed by the wingspan, because not being very tall (1m70), I didn’t want the ear to drag in the water.

So I went for the Superpower in 6m and I was able to do 2 very light sessions last weekend (8/12 knots). At this level of wind, it is difficult to really give figures, everything is a matter of feeling but it was very light.

“I really like the limited wingspan”

Conclusion, I am very happy. What I really like is the limited wingspan (I have to compare with my Neutra but I even think it is smaller than my 5m). When pumping, it helps to avoid touching the water too much and therefore to have efficient pumping.

“I managed to take off quite easily”

I was riding a Curve XL + Stab Veloce 43 and I managed to take off quite easily. I feel that the Mint 4’8 is pushing water and that I have to improve my technique to take off even earlier but I have a few weeks left to perfect myself before the summer just to be ready to fly with the slightest gust.

Once in the air, no problem to keep the flight. What I find useful is to start pumping before the wind gust so as to already have a little speed when it arrives to make the most of it. If you start pumping once the gust arrives, it is often too short to allow a take-off.

“Not too physical and very stable”

In flight, I didn’t find it too physical (but I had a harness) and very stable.

In the jibes, I found that it was not that much of a problem, it is a big wing but it is more the very weak wind which makes the rotation of the wing difficult than really its size. After 2/3 tries, we quickly get used to the trick.

I still have to test it with a little more consistent wind to see if it holds up well, and also possibly with a little swell to see if we can put it in neutral (even if this is not its program, I think it’s possible).

I am curious to compare it to other 6m wings to refine my feeling but I am happy with this wing which will be very useful to me this summer in asthmatic winds.”
