Very first review of the new 2023 wings for Yohann, GONG ambassador, who took advantage of a late afternoon breeze to try two new wings. Not enough time to get his bearings with the SuperPower but already some great sensations with the Plus.

the new windows are really great, you get an amazing view-through
The inflation valve covers are punctured to let air through when folding the wing. It’s such a simple thing but it makes a huge difference.

After 4pm the late afternoon thermal wind picked up and I joined some friends on the spot to try the two wings for a flat session.

It is indeed very stiff
The bigger back handle is a game changer. At the end of the session I am still not fully used to the one on the SuperPower (The one on the Plus was no problem though)
During tacks, both wings rotate from one side to the other much more easily than before and respond instantly.
Again, during tacks, the wings slice the wind when sailing straight upwind, they do not pull back. It gives you more time to maneuver.
The pumping of the Plus was less disturbing, I took off at least as easily as with a 6.

When foiling, the Plus 5 is really lively, it feels like a much smaller wing that it actually is. The Plus 5 wing is a great surprise, the liveliness (or lightness?) is really shocking and everything is made easier. I did not use it for long but I cannot wait for the next session.
