Very first surf foiling session for Lionel, with the NOTW 5'8, which offered the glide that enabled him to make his first flights.

Surffoiler: Malo, GONG team rider, with the NOTW 7’8 EPS Pro, HM77 V3 mast, Fluid H V3 front wing and stab.
A first experience in surf foiling
“My very first time surf foiling session with the NOTW 5'8!
I had two firsts this weekend, SUP foil sessions with the NOTW 8'8 discussed yesterday on the group, and a surf foiling session with the NOTW 5'8.
I'm no more consistent in surfing than I am in SUP. I probably do 5 sessions a year, and that’s in a good year. Whenever I have free time, I tend to kite or wingfoil. So I've got quite a bit of foiling experience. This surf foiling session was a great experience! Helped by a few good tips, I took off and flew on the second wave already. I have to mention the conditions were just perfect. Slow waves of 0.5 to 0.7 meters and totally glassy.”
The glide of the NOTW
“Paddling on the NOTW 5'8 is really easy. I think it's the volume I needed to get started. The feeling of being on a mid-length with the foil stabilizing the board while paddling. The wide nose also gives stability and the length translates into a great glide to get going. The board has a really nice line and the pad is top notch (the same as on the NOTW 8'8).”
First flights and exits attempts
“I had quite a few wipe outs, but nothing spectacular. The waves were small and not too hollow, so nothing to be scared about really, contrary to what you might think with foils. I was wearing a helmet just in case though... By keeping weight on the nose, you can control the take-off. When jumping on your feet, it takes off. By repeating take-offs I was able to find the right stance straight away. Otherwise, splash! I must have flown on a dozen of waves in the end, with enough control to dare to imagine passing over the whitewater and connecting a wave of the set. But it was tricky. The waves were closing too quickly, if not completely closing-out. I lacked the speed to turn around and get through the foam.
So happy to have flown some nice reforms on my first session! I was riding a Curve XL-H foil. It was perfect for my level of foiling. Thanks David GONG for the loan of the NOTW!"

I am having a very difficult time making contact with your company. I have sent several emails and only get standard response stating someone will get back to me within 24 hrs… which sadly has not happened. Please look for my email and let me know if and how you may assist in my urgent shipping matter. Merci
