FEEDBACK: NFA FSP PRO 8’0

“I now have about ten sessions with the NFA 8’0 FSP Pro under my belt, so I can share some feedback on this board. The shape is compact, 8’0 x 29 15/16 and 110 liters of volume.

Top-of-the-range construction with a carbon PVC deck and hull sandwich, ensuring solidity, responsiveness and lightness to the board.

The equipment is top notch with a super comfortable pad, an ergonomic FCS carrying handle that includes a decompression valve.

Tested with two FCS II Performer L side fins and a 5’5″ Harley Ingleby center fin. The first thing that strikes you when getting on the board is its great stability for its volume. The surface on the water is large with a width that stabilizes the board very well. When paddling, it goes quite fast for its size, with a row effect that is not very present for this length. Despite its short length, it takes off quite early on the waves. Wave catching is early and easy.

The board engages very easily in the bottom turns and pumping to accelerate in the wave to get past soft sections is possible. One crossed step is enough to find yourself on the nose. iIt’s great to be able to noseride an 8 footer!

It allows you to accelerate hard, to noseride then cutback to reposition yourself and send a good roller on the section in front of you.

It’s enjoyable, I love this kind of surfing in 40cm to 1m waves.

I was able to try the board in 30cm and it glides really well, and up to 1.20m it turns very well. Despite a rather relaxed rocker, the board turns hard and can handle hollow sections if you have the back foot on the tail pad. I was surprised by its ability to go for vertical turns without pearling on the way down.

I feel that this board is going to be the one I’ll do the most sessions with, because it corresponds to 80% of the sessions on the spots I usually go to, namely Sainte Barbe and Guidel (Morbihan)”
