FEEDBACK: NFA 9’0 XL
Here’s Jérome’s feedback on our forum after a first session on the NFA 9’0 in its XL version.
“I hesitated for a long time between a 9’0 and a 9’0 XL. I finally chose the latter, the trend in my life being more for good food than diet ;).
First test session this Monday in the Mediterranean with my 1.75m and my 95kg all wet: it’s just awesome!
- 1) The extra width is not felt at all, compared to the 2016 NFA 9’0 from a colleague that I surf quite often.
- 2) I gained comfort when paddling and in the line-up.
- 3) This board is super playful at the tail. I wiped-out 2-3 times on tight turns that I wasn’t expecting this tight.
- 4) Regarding noserides, I didn’t see any difference with my NFA 10’0, it’s super buoyant.
In summary, I had an NFA 10’0 and an Empire 8’3 which I loved, but which I will be able to replace because this 9’0 XL brings me the positive points of these 2 boards without their disadvantages:
- Size for the 10 which required roof bars on my car.
- Minimum wave size for the Empire.
In most cases versatility comes at the expense of certain aspects. Compared to my old quiver, this board equals or even surpasses my old ones.
You want to tease: 2 + 1 in the original set-up, I even think we can go to a central 6”. Old-fashioned: a single 9” that I can’t wait to try.
