The Neutra et al Droid UPE in very erratic winds

“Hello everyone !!! Test of the GONG Neutra UPE 5.5 / Droid UPE 6.5 wings. Here is my little review of these 2 fantastic wings! Context: Me, 85 kg, sailing in eastern France at the Acal Gondrexange Nautical Base with very irregular winds.”

It clearly goes higher

“My preference is towards the Droid over the Neutra but that’s just my opinion, on the spot other wingers will tell you the opposite! I’m used to sailing with the latest Plus 2023, I clearly felt the difference with these 2 wing models, we are in another world, in jumps it clearly goes higher, despite the weak conditions, we were able to see straight away that it went up strongly, and that we stayed in the air longer!!! And that’s good!!!”

“Of course, if you are the type to have ‘heavy bones’ like me you won’t go up to 10m but if you are lighter, it will quickly get heavy. For example with the photos of my little wing buddy who must weigh 50kg all wet (yellow boardshort)!”

With the UPE we clearly gain in rigidity

“Rotations are also simpler with the Droid, its short wingspan will give you all the keys to succeeding in your first FS360 and maybe even 540 and 720…. With the UPE we clearly gain in rigidity, you can feel it immediately when pumping, it reacts directly, especially with the rigid handles. In jibe, duck, 360 style moves, the wings are very light while remaining powerful, which for me also makes maneuvering easier. Anyway… I ordered the Droid UPE 6.5m!!!! ”
