FEEDBACK: NEUTRA

Kevin has illustrated a new feedback about the new Neutra with a big smile and a detailed text on our GONG Galaxy facebook group.

“The 2023 Neutra is the best wing I have ever flown.”
“I have been riding the 4 and 5m for the last few weeks in the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California/Oregon Coast, and Gorge (Oregon). I am impressed by its power and wind range, but also how it has the optimal wing profile to maintain superb balance for wave riding and without any compromises to comfort.
Rider: 85kg, 55L board, 1050m2 HA foil (AR 8.1), 2023 Neutra 4 and 5m
1. Power- Incredible range.
The 5m Neutra has replaced both my 5 and 6m from another brand! The Neutra has a flat enough profile to give incredible low end. As others who have tried this wing have mentioned, there is a different feel at start on the water. You don’t feel much grunt until you gain some speed and begin pumping, the power then comes on fast and rips you up onto the foil. MUCH easier start than many other wings I’ve tried. Amazed at how wide of a wind range these work in.
2. Balance – wave and swell riding on this wing is so easy.
Even on the big 5m in lighter on-shore wind the wing is so light you can charge down the face straight at the wind and wing and the wing will stay afloat. I used to run into the wing or worse yet get pulled behind me – which invariably meant the wing was going to start dragging in the water and kill my momentum. If the Neutra falls behind you it still floats and is easy to bring back in front. So awesome.
3. Comfort – I don’t use a harness, and I don’t think I’ll ever want one with these wings.
I LOVE the handles. I can cruise with my finger tips for long distances with little effort. Initially, I was having some trouble with angle of attack of foil and how I was holding the wing, but I then realized my stance and how I was holding the wing was wrong. I’m not great at describing the changes I made but I think the ergonomics work better when you stand more upright in a neutral stance and twist the wing into the window. My last set of wings felt like C-kites where you had to lean back and edge.
4. Durability – The wing is bomber.
LOL just adding this because I’m impressed that I’ve fallen onto the canopy of the wing several times with my DAD-bod and it didn’t show any signs of injury. My last wings started to stretch at the seams after so much weight onto the canopy. The wing is bomber.
What can I say? 10/10 thank you GONG!”
