FEEDBACK: MOB 7’6 FSP 2X

Alex’s feedback on our forum perfectly sums up the spirit of the Mob, which is aimed at those who already have a first experience in SUP and who want an easy shape to exploit everyday surf conditions.

“Hello, here’s little feedback on my new Mob 7’6 FSP 2X! 1m68 for 66kg, medium level, 3 years of LongSUP. Conditions of the session were waist high. After 3 years on a longboard SUP, I was not at ease with losing 25L of volume compared to my 9’0. After a few splashes I quickly got used to it with the help of the paddle and by adjusting the position of the feet on the board a bit.

I was really amazed by the Mob.

The way to take the wave is not the same as with the longboard, you have to stay close to where it breaks and engage well in the slope with the weight on the front pad, but I practically didn’t lose anything compared to the longboard in terms of catching waves!

On the other hand, handling is really something else and we can make the best out of all the sections. On my spots the waves are very often shifty peaks and choppy, with backwash too! An ideal playground for the Mob… What a pleasure to take advantage of these shapes, we feel that it has fully matured over the years!

This nose does not catch on the take-off.

It’s funny to push a little on the front (which I waxed) to accelerate like on a longboard. You can even do little nose rides. And the large tail gets pushed a lot by the wave. It’s really sensitive, I even got thrown off by a wave coming back from the shore going up to the peak!

I still have to try it out on bigger waves, but it’s a really different ride from longboarding in similar conditions.

I’m going to have to really get into it, over time it will be fine. I received size L fins with it, it surprised me a bit but to start (or for bigger conditions?) it will still be useful.”
