Feedback from Frédéric who seems to have found the perfect match with the Lethal 4’10 85L 2023.

“This board rocks ?.”
“This is exactly what I have been looking for for several months. I was starting to look towards an 80L for more radicality (narrower to go faster, turn harder and more agility on jumps and surfs) but I was cautious given my 87kg weight and my level… and I did well to wait when I discovered this 2023 range with more sizes ? …and an 85L. I went in 1 year, mixing at different times, through tests and personal boards, from the Lethal 95L to the HIPE Pro 95L, the Lemon 95L, the Lemon 58L, the Lemon 45L ?… to now this Lethal 2023 85L. What stands out for me the most is that it is narrow (59cm) less bulky and stable despite everything and this brings a real plus, it has clearly boosted my level?. Thanks GONG Galaxy. First of all to take off it pushes less water, it glides more, I have more mini than with the Lemon 95L. When sailing upwind for example, you can take a lot of angles without touching the water (versus a Lemon in 67cm for example) which makes it a great board for speed runs or getting back into surf conditions, the same in turns. In the waves you can ride much more radically, and there the tips of the foil come out +++.The bulb at the front is great, it allows you to pearl less.
In the event of a touchdown it bounces back up. So upwind it’s great and in landing jumps it’s easier, it brings stability. When stopped on your knees (versus a Lemon 95L 67cm wide) it requires more precautions it is clearly less stable (10L less too ) but once there is air, it’s so fun, you have to lower your center of gravity and you’re OK (shoulders in your knees). Once upright the rear sinks much more but it remains surprisingly stable like an anti-drift plane, nevertheless I still cannot change tack without falling ?, I mean pre-flight on the surface, something I was able to do with the Lemon 95. On the other hand, it goes faster without being more technical, it glides more, you can pump more easily on your legs, which greatly compensates. To get going in a switched stance is therefore much simpler.
Its length x width proportions make you feel like you’re riding a longer board at first. I mean visually (yet 4’10 vs 5’0). Without being too bulky on the contrary. Jumping goes great. It takes much less wind on takeoff and in the air, it turns fast and strong, the bulb on the nose helps to land and get going again as quickly as possible.
For me it is the ideal compromise between handling and ease.
We do not sink in reception and we are stable enough to take off without difficulty. A less voluminous board like my Lemon 45L or 58L are awesome in terms of handling but clearly less easy to land and they require crazy energy or a level that I don’t have at my 42 years old and 87kg, especially in rough conditions. I will also say that it feels a lot livelier underfoot. The feeling is very direct. It obeys the fingers (feet) and the eye ?. I don’t know if it comes from the firmer pad, the more precise straps or the lowered deck, but it’s more precise. Associated with an HM 85 Mast and a Ypra S M it rocks ?? . It is for me the unique board to do everything from 12 knots to 40 knots and +, even if it requires a good level (soon 3 years of winging for more or less 100 sessions per year) Finally the footstraps are more precise as well as the firmer pad, the SCS system (mast/board connection) makes life so much easier ?? .”
