A little comparative feedback from Marion who went from a Mint FSP Pro 4’6 to a Lemon FSP Pro 4’9 in the waves.

“A little feedback on the Lemon 2022 in the waves. With a small comparison with Mint and Lethal that I had previously. I rode it in 4’9 (80L) for my size of 1m70 and 65kg (without the wetsuit, slippers, hat, helmet ) and I’m more stable than with the Mint 4’8 (65L) in the waves. By taking this volume, I gain a bit in width (not necessarily noticeable) and in length, which for me makes the difference for stability.

I did not take it in 4’6 because, to have the same length and less width, I did not see much interest for what I was looking for. Admittedly, I am able to sail on 65L, but depending on the shape of the board and the conditions that we have, it’s more to the advantage of one shape than the other.

Mint

The Mint in 65L is a great board that I love but for me, in the waves, I wasted time getting back on the board, and getting off balance, especially forward. Once up, I was very stable though. Nothing to say at this level, but to be stable on my knees, it was a bit of a rodeo for me, in this kind of condition. On the flat, no problem.

I have often felt like a sea lion trying to hold on to its little piece of iceberg in rough seas.

The stability of the Lemon

With the Lemon, I no longer have this problem. The length helps me to quickly stand up and take off without wasting time or energy. The volume is not felt at all, on the contrary. It is a thinner board which is forgotten in flight. It forgives a little more when touching water, rebounds really well, and it’s really a big plus on this point!

I can also compare with the Lethal 4’10 (80L) I could test, the Lemon is more stable: a little wider at equal volume, less thick and less pronounced facets, which gives less rolling effect when kneeling. Its shape is clearly closer to the Lethal 2022, but not as radical.”
