FEEDBACK : LE WING FOIL !!!

Sébastien, GONG ambassador, shares with us his feelings on the wing foil which he’s already been practicing for several months. “I do windsurf, surf and SUP for years and I wanted to get into the foil. What seemed most accessible to me, was wind foiling. I’ve tried, this feeling of flying is unbelievable, but there were too many constraints (more rigging gear, more settings, having the right conditions and especially the repetitive side of tacking and upwind). That’s why I took an interest to the Wing to try out new limitless sensations and mix the feelings of surfing, foiling and windsurfing. The first thing that changed my view of navigation, and made me love the wing, it’s the fact that it doesn’t pull in the arms. The wing is carried by the wind and you don’t have to pull on it like a fierce for moving forward. You just have to adapt the power of the wing according to the handles you’re holding. And this is restful! Then it’s really accessible: there’s just a board, a foil and a wing to inflate. We can get in the water almost anywhere and go wherever we want. As soon as we take-off, it’s fast and we can have some cray cruising, go upwind by flying and go downwind the ocean swell by surf foiling, with a total neutrality of the wing in the wind. Starting out is very easy, especially with volume, I had a board with 115L , I weight 70kg. The Wing is also great because you can ride without a harness, compared to windsurf. In short, It’s a great combination of my favorite sports: windsurfing and surfing. About my gear, I use a 6’6 Zuma FSP 2X, a monobloc Carbon PRO mast 70 cm, with the Front Wing  XL PRO Clear and stab PRO Clear 45cm, because I wanted to use it as well in SUP Foil. I have a GONG Wing 5m Original, and I plan to complete with a 6m Superpower. It’s all very accessible in flight, reassuring, super soft in touchdowns, the gear is perfect for start out and progress quickly in Wing/SUP Foil. I look forward to the next sessions. Salut les gongistes, je viens de commander le pack wing Zuma, je n’ai jamais pratiquer de foils de ma vie. Par contre sup, surf et windsurf.
Pour essayer le foil avec ma Zuma l’apprentissage sera plus facile en Wing ou en Sup ? Merci de bien vouloir m’éclairer.
