FEEDBACK: LANCE 5’8 FSP 2X

Nice feedback from Albin who set himself the goal of starting out in surf foiling on a Lance 5’8 FSP 2X with almost no surfing experience. A testimony that illustrates that it is far from being inaccessible. And downright very accessible when you already know how to surf and position yourself in a line-up.

“Surf foiling last weekend ! Some of you guys, in love with flying in kite foiling, wing foiling, or dock start… might wonder how hard it would be to start surf foiling, with close to zero experience surfing a normal surfboard…?. I was that guy…Couldn’t stop watching Béryl Besseau, Malo Guénolé, and the other guys surfing infinite “waves”, pumping around with such ease!
Surf foiling seems so magical!!!?
Starting classic surfing was always an idea, and don’t we always hear that a crappy wave is a perfect wave in surfoil? Too tempting, never too late and all that So, I bought a crappy foam board to train the normal surf, and a LANCE to surf foil! Around the same volume. The biggest GONG Galaxy has for my 95kg. I’m learning both sports simultaneously! It’s like Patrice Guénolé said in one of the videos about Béryl, positioning is key, and damned is it hard! My friends who do not surf yet, trust me, it is tough! The reward though, definitely supersedes the amount of effort you need to put in!!! The correlation effort / joy is on another level in my humble opinion compared to towed foil sports. The reward is huge! What to work on in my case? The take off, and positioning the feet perfectly (as in dock start). The good news is, you can work on that in your living room”
