FEEDBACK: KITE STRUTLESS V4

The magical concept of the Strutless is more efficient than ever in this 4th generation since it offers the handling of a 3-batten kite but with 30% less drag! Here is a little feedback from Ben on our forum who was able to see the evolution by going directly from V2 to V4.

“Hello everyone, a little feedback on my Strutless V4 11m received in July that I was able to test a lot of times this summer.

In short, it’s promises kept!

The description of the kite on the website and the advice on the forum were totally correct, and compared to my V2 12m2 there is a very appreciable margin of progress. Despite 1m2 less, I start with my foil (curve L) about as early as 6-7 knots because the kite is more manoeuvrable and turns faster at the waterstart. It allows you to do the S or the loops until it takes off, like an A380 (I use line extensions).

I tested with or without the central batten. I did not notice any noticeable difference in the ability of the kite to stay in the air in ultra-light conditions. On the other hand, there’s a better hold of the hollow with the batten, so in the end I always use this fiber batten. I also tested it with or without the ear battens. Having the battens on the ears changes everything when the wind gets stronger! It allows it to go much further before saturation, which was in my eyes the main limitation of the V2.

And overall we feel that it glides really well, less power reserve than the V2 but a speed and power that increases linearly, loops that pass smoothly, a pleasure to drive! Thanks GONG! ”
