FEEDBACK: KITE STRUTLESS 9M

Feedback from Gaby on our forum who tested the fourth generation of the Strutless kite in foiling.

“Here’s my feedback from several sessions on the Strutless V4 9m² in foiling, mainly in light winds (9/12 knots) and a stronger wind session around 15/16.

The kite is very stable and the lightest in the range which gives it a big advantage in light winds! In the wind holes you can see that the kite will not do a “Hindenburg” type of crash but will slowly stall back and recover power in the window. This is especially important during falls or messed up transitions in light wind. No more stress thinking that the kite will crash with an unpleasant swim to follow. There, the kite keeps flying.

When sailing the pressure is really light in the bar, it can be a bit surprising at first but it allows you to be very light footed and have no fatigue.

The kite flies very well and fast!

The more you sheet in for power, the more you get. To the point of thinking that it never reaches its speed limit. In addition, its flight window is very large, the upwinds are impressive. After a lot of wing sessions, it’s amazing to come back to these sailing angles, we head upwind practically against the wind.

I was not a fan of the idea of the battens on the tips but I admit that in dowloops with the bar shocked during the relaunch, the sound of the canvas flapping is absolutely not missing!

For the moment I did not test the takeoff in the water as the sail has not yet touched the water (thanks to the stability!)

I can’t wait to try it with a Matata type of surfboard that glides well to see how much we can get out this kite in the low range before having to use a foil!”
