FEEDBACK : HM MAST 92

Last week, Valentin gave us his impressions of the HM 85 Mast. Here is his feedback on its bigger brother, the HM 92 Mast

“I used it much less than my 85 HM mast. Well, when launching you need more water ?, 7cm may not seem like a big difference but it does on shallow spots. Before taking off, with the 92HM mast I find my board a bit more stable (feeling or reality?). To take off, I find that it takes off a little later than the 85HM, for me it’s anecdotal since I can take off with close to no wind thanks to my weight. In flight, it is a mast very similar to the 85 HM but also very different on certain points.
In speed, a marvel, no feeling of braking or rise of the foil.
The 7 cm allow you to have an additional margin to manage the trim of the foil. With the mast a little thinner at the level of the fuselage it helps. I find it more reassuring than the 85 HM regarding the top speed (feeling or reality, that is the question?) In the maneuver and curves, I did not notice any change. When wiping out, 7cm more didn’t have a significant impact ? Can you suffer from vertigo with the HM92? I do not think so. My feelings going from the 85 to the 92, I find that the reference points are quite identical so when I go back to 85 I don’t get fooled whereas when I tried a one-meter monobloc mast and I go back to 85 I’m pretty sure that on my first way out I’m going to stall. In conclusion, if you have in mind to go for long speed runs, or even compete and if the depth of your spots allows it, go for it ?. On the other hand, if you want a mast to do everything, take the 85HM. For the moment the only thing limiting the top speed (even average speed) is the person between the wing and the board ?. No photo in action as my camera does not take lightspeed video/photo?♀️??.”
