“Small presentation to start. I’m 1.78 m tall, 78 kg, former owner of a 5’4 90 liter board, starting to attempt jumps. I decided for practical reasons and also to avoid exploding my board on the rocks to turn to an inflatable board, motivated by the videos of L’Ours and the insane level of his son. Also convinced by the capacity of the inflatable and the carbon plate to do wonders.

I already have an 8’5 Couine Marie who is a few years old and hasn’t aged so quite confident about the solidity of the new toy. So I decided for a 5’1. After some advice, the GONG team recommends me to take the 5’3. Go for 5’3 then.

In detail: already when you open the box, it’s beautiful, the bag is large and will accommodate the foil and the wings for a next trip. All hardware is present.

Fast inflation at 15 PSI (that’s more than enough) and I mount the foil. At first I was skeptical about the length of the screws to mount my foil from a competing brand but in the end nothing moves. The new system is super practical, all you have to do is find the same thing to mount your foil faster.

On the water, it’s magic, it’s rigid, the board does not move.

We do not have the impression of being on an inflatable, it takes off quickly surely thanks to the inflatable precisely. Not the impression of being on a 100 liter board, quite the contrary. The board is lively, reactive. The centered straps are comfortable and the pad is top notch.

When stationary, it is a little more difficult to find balance but it’s all right. I had to find my bearings on a board that is a little narrower and rounder than my old board.

In short, I guess you understood that I am thrilled with my board. Congratulations to the team and I’m looking forward to the next session.”
