FEEDBACK: HIPE 5'3 !!!

Feedback from François on the HIPE 5.3, our new ambassador active in the far west of France 🙂

“Feedback on the HIPE after 7 months riding it for about 35 to 40 sessions.
This is my first wing board after a few months of surf foil and wake foil. I chose the HIPE 5.3 (110L) for my 75kg.
“One of its underestimated assets is its strength”
In my opinion one of its underestimated assets is its strength: impossible to bug it on the shore or the slipway. When you are a beginner you can be confused by the transport of the whole gear (board + foil + inflated wing) from the parking lot to the water. Landing the board a bit rough happened to me and I was delighted to have an inflatable board at this moment.
“Very playful and very manoeuvrable”
Getting started on such a short board probably took me one or two more sessions to fly both sides compared to a longer board. I realized this when I tried a friend’s board. However, as soon as I got used to it, I really enjoyed the HIPE’s agility. It’s very playful and very manoeuvrable thanks to its compact shape.
In terms of rigidity, it’s quite simple, I have never been able to fault it. I have never been able to see a difference with a rigid.
As for the feel, they recover a little less easily from touchdowns than with a rigid one with a double concave, but nothing too complicated either. Some say that it “sticks” to the water, that seems exaggerated to me.
“Just under five minutes to inflate”
From a use standpoint, it takes just under five minutes to inflate by hand, and it folds very easily to fit in its carry bag. You can also accommodate a pump and a wing, and there is still some space.
In short, I recommend it without reservation.”
