FEEDBACK: HIPE 4’11
BackSome only go for rigid boards and others have tried the HIPE 😉 Here’s the feedback from Marion on our forum who had a go on the HIPE.
“Last Sunday, in Palandrin (56), the wind was blowing at 25/30 knots with gusts, quite a lot of chop in all directions over the spot and of course the good old Brittany showers. Awesome conditions to test the stability of this board!
On this day, I was flying with the Fluid L, Stab Curve 43cm, V2 Carbon Mast 85cm, and at the end of my arms, a Neutra 3m2.
After walking for long minutes (thanks to the tide) I kneeled on the board, in the chop, thinking that it was going to be unstable, and to my pleasant surprise, the board was super stable! I usually ride a Lemon 4’9 (80L) or even the Mint 4’6 (65L) and it’s the most stable board, by far. Once standing up, even with no wind from time to time in soft conditions, staying up is not complicated (for those who already have experience on other boards). Very surprised on this point and in difficult conditions.
When pumping, the board glides well and it takes off easily.
I also tested it yesterday with a very soft wind, a choppy body of water, in 4m (I would have prefered a 5m in this wind) with a Fluid XL-S and a Curve 43cm Stab.
In flight, it is pleasant. Light underfoot. In case of touchdowns, the board rebounds and the flight continues its momentum. No discomfort on maneuvers whether for jibing or tacking.
Today, if I have to find a negative point, I can’t find one ;). It’s going to be my travel board for all conditions and why not make it my everyday board
Easy to transport, in addition to the board, the sail, the foil in spare parts, the pump and the wetsuit, fit in the wheeled transport bag, and besides, it’s yellow colors are great looking! Even more when it’s gray and rainy ”
