Our ambassador Yohann had the privilege of testing the new HM 85 mast, here is how he felt about it.
“First test, for me, of the 85 HM mast in wing foiling.
I tested it with the Ypra XL, the Fluid H 38 Stab under the HIPE Pro 5’3 and the Plus 5m 2023 in the hands in gusty and rather light wind conditions on average with very small swell bumps for a downwind. The difference with the Carbon V2 Mast is much more important than I expected: – the wing is more lively in its handling. – the difference in glide is noticeable, during the session I first said to myself that it was similar or even superior to the difference in glide between the Veloce XL-H and the Ypra XL and then I thought to myself that it was as if I had always sailed with small algae stuck to the mast and that I had just removed them. I had a revelation when switching from the aluminum V1 to the monobloc mast and then I didn’t feel a very big difference between the aluminum V2 and the Carbon V2 Mast. A different story here.”
