FEEDBACK: FRONT WING VELOCE M-T

The Veloce is not just the queen of speed in wing foiling, as Mathieu explains in his feedback on our forum.

“I am 1m85 for 80kg. I use the Stab Kite 40 and have a lot of flying hours under my belt.

This wing is great for my size. We often talk about the speed offered by the Veloce so we can easily imagine that in this size, it is a hit.

On the other hand we never evoke the handling and it is rather the Fluid which is making the buzz on this criterion at the moment … but nay, the Veloce MT is lively under the feet and goes next level at the slightest request, a crazy sliding pleasure. It feels like a shortboard.

I guess this lively temperament could be mellowed with a Veloce Stab (but I don’t have one and I haven’t tested) to offer speed performance, but with the Stab Fast 40 we kill two birds with one stone.

Low pressure under the front leg, I love it.

To complete the picture, by being gentle and agile like a cat, it is still possible to fly at very low speed, even with tiny choppy swell bumps.

The negative … These crazy performances do have a small setback that is easy to erase, however: the waterstart. The lift is not crazy but it is logical and true to its description: it is its low volume and low thickness that give us this exhilarating glide. Taking off in the high range of your wing is easy, in medium range, way doable with a good board (a Lethal for me;)) and a little experience to get started thanks to the choppy water. In the low range, you have to forget.

I’m digressing from a comparison with the Fluid LS but as L’Ours says, you have to compare the right sizes to make sense: The Veloce L with the Fluid L There we are not far: the Veloce M-T against the Fluid L-S The Veloce wins this duel in speed, glide and handling, but the Fluid is amazingly easy to sail, with a take-off that is largely doable in the low range of the wing.”
