FEEDBACK: FRONT WING FLUID XLS AND STAB FLUID 43

Having become a big fan of the sensations offered by the Fluid, our ambassador François wanted to test how far he can push it in the low end.

“Here is my feedback on the low end of the Lethal FSP Pro 5’1 / Front Wing Fluid XLS / Stab Fluid 43 and Neutra 5m² set up for my 85 kg.

Arriving on the spot, I really hesitated on the choice of my front wing and stab because it does not exceed 13 knots, maybe 14 in the gusts, with mostly wind around 9/10 knots… As usual, I focus more on the gusts that allow me to take off. During the wind holes, I can manage with cardio and technique.

So, I hesitate between the Front Wing Curve XL-T, with which I am sure to have fun, and the Front Wing Fluid XL-S to test its low range and continue to tame it because I love its glide. In the end I went for the XLS and Stab Fluid 43. Let’s go!

Launching

The Lethal, which I love, is perfect with its 95 liters, it works in all conditions. Its volume is forgotten in flight and in ultra low range, once standing up, I keep standing!

I’m waiting for the gust that will launch me. I don’t fly. I ride without flying in the direction of the open sea then I turn around to be on my good foot. Yes, in the low range, there’s a big difference between my 2 feet … there’s no contest! U-turn, still standing in spite of the 10 knots… The gust hits me, let’s go, I pick up speed, pump a little and I take off !! Yipaaaaaaa !!!

Fluid XLS and Stab Fluid

Let’s go for 1h30 of flight on the Front Wing Fluid which I love. I could hold the flight without ever touching again. I pass the wind holes almost without pumping, just 1 or 2 pumps from time to time, but this XL-S is very good!

A few bumps, it turns efficiently and so easily … and this is where the Fluid Stab comes in: it gives a super coherent whole in the maneuvers. Hyper neutral to the point of believing yourself on a kite stab. You don’t have the rebound from the LT and Veloce 43 set up for example.

There, you don’t feel anything. Actually you think you don’t feel anything …. BUT you actually feel everything, but in a less significant way in lift but so much more precise and without fear of being overwhelmed by the foil during big curves. It does not stall and it accelerates on its own! As if we are riding a snowboard full throttle without a handbrake.

Good cruising speed despite this weak wind, perfect heading and another happy session on this Front Wing Fluid and Lethal.

“Really a success this XL-S”

Really a success this XL-S and I tell myself that in 5m and Lethal 5’1, I may be able to take out my Front Wing L Fluid from 15/16 knots and still be in another world.

The Lethal also has a lot to do with the low range of the foil, this board is really effective for lightwind, obviously but also in strong winds.
