FEEDBACK: FRONT WING FLUID XL-T

Our ambassador François shares his first impressions after a session in very small waves with the Fluid XL-T.

“Report of my first wing sesh on the XL-T Fluid! 12/14 knots then 14/16 knots before the storm hit. Neutra 5m v2, Lethal 5’1, Fluid 43. Flat, just mini mini bumps …. hygienic session we will say … In short, for a first session, I took off at 13/14 knots but not at 12 I’m sure.
Once in the air, it’s a pure glide with a loose front foot, and I loooove that!
I had adjusted my foil 1cm more in forward than usual to see …. perfect! It’s going fast, for a 1500, 21.8 km/h average over 1h15 of session, easy tack and jibe but for jibes and 360 for example, I note that the entry into a curve is less “round” than with the Fluid range S, you need more strength to hold the move, I feel the 95cm wingspan underfoot… so I failed at my 2 first 360 attempts, then, it’s like everything, you get used to it, and it goes easy …
The crazy speed and glide is a real asset to go through non-existent bumps with the wing in neutral …. crazy!
For surfing, it will be necessary to confirm during a real session, I think it is less fun than an XL-S, less “playful” we will say …. you have to be precise and for this first session, I clearly feel that I have 95cm under the feet and not 86 cm like with the XL-S!
I say it once more, my feedback is to be taken with a grain of salt, this is my first session with it, and there were not even 80cm waves, but rather 30 or 20 …. But nonetheless, an impression of having a more exclusive foil, which requires precision and support in the curves. As for the glide …. AWESOME !! Only this adjective will suffice to describe this XL-T Fluid.
In summary,
it takes off rather well, it goes faaaast, it liiiiifts, the glide is of an exemplary neutrality for this size of front wing, and the surf is to be confirmed in good conditions (I placed a few nice curves though on the few bumps that have come my way, and I liked it but …) To be continued for new adventures! ”
