FEEDBACK: FLUID LH

Feedback from Michel on our facebook page after several sessions on a Fluid H Pro Set-up.

“Today I had a wing session with a 5m², a Fluid LH + Fluid H 45 Stab + Carbon V2 85 Mast, 8/18 knots, flat, 80 kg, harness line.
Fairly light day but with strong gusts which allowed take-off and after that it didn’t stop flying even in the 8 knots lulls. With the 45 stab I gained a lot on takeoff (compared to the 42). I didn’t even have to take the 6m². I think I can set off in 12 knots with my 80 kg by pumping efficiently.
It’s really crazy how good it takes off.
I think I have the range of use of my old Veloce L-T 1350 cm² but with even more glide.
With my 95l board, which has a crazy glide, take-off is really easy. In the lulls, it glides on its own, it’s crazy, it doesn’t slow down, sometimes I pump with my legs, it glides for a long time, the time to pick up a gust to get going.
In jibing it’s great. It glides and it turns really well.
It feels very free compared to the Veloce L-T. The Fluid tolerates low speeds very well at the end of the curve if you are out of power for example.
The other side of the coin is that you have to be much more precise on your stance, it’s much more subtle. You can feel how the rail to rail frees up the trajectories. The toe side tacks are facilitated with the glide (well, I’m almost there…)
In flight you can cruise calmly but you can also speed up./h4>
You feel that hardcore speed runs aren’t its thing but if you focus you can get a very decent top speed out of it. In the end, I find the gap reasonable when you come from the T range, but there is still a fairly serious gap. You have to be on top of your game on the Ts to switch to the Fluid H. What’s crazy with the Fluid LH is that I used it in 35 knots too and it goes very well (stab 42). Although the front wing develops a strong lift in those conditions, you can keep the plane flat and stay in control. For my use it’s an everyday front wing which tolerates 12/40 knots. Below that wind range I still have to test the Ypra LS of 1000 which I have just received. After the Ypra S I would really like to try the Veloce H to compare it to, the normal Ypra seems too “extreme” to me. Well, this is the feedback of an average joe with an average level, who progressed step by step as imagined by L’Ours I believe, X-Over, Curve, Veloce (T ) and now Fluid H, smoothly getting towards more performance and a pleasure of glide that becomes more and more exhilarating…. I really have to test the Veloce H because my basic sessions are really about freeriding, for lack of regular waves on my home spot.
Thank you GONG team.“
