FEEDBACK: CRUZADER FSP PRO 6’3 XL
Taking advantage of the current 25% promotion on 2023 FSP Pro wing boards, Pierre-Emmanuel fell for the Cruzader FSP Pro 6’3 XL with which he says he “wins on all fronts”.
Evolution of the quiver
“I spent 2023 in Lemon 5’2 105L. Very happy with the versatility of this board, I wanted to test the long boards to gain in the low range (95kg+, it’s not always easy to get on the foil). I bought the Cruzader HIPE Strapless 7’6 this summer to see what I could get and I was not disappointed! Huge gain in low range, rather accessible board, with the advantages of an inflatable board, especially for such a large size! Really nothing more I could wish for. I was just missing the foot straps that appeared later in the season. Board sold, the wind returned with a bang at the end of summer and I forgot about the need of early takeoffs”
It ticks all the boxes
“Two weeks ago, I gave in and came back on the attack with another perspective, doing everything in one with a narrow board => The Cruzader 6’3 XL seemed to tick all the boxes: 120L, still some comfort, but a length/width ratio which corresponds to my initial idea, something light, a weight on the nose no more important than on my previous boards. Strap inserts and above all, inserts to offset the back foot strap.”
Much earlier takeoffs
“I’m super happy with my first sessions, I feel like I’m winning on all fronts. In order of importance:
- Much earlier takeoffs (I must have gained at least 2/3 knots in low range with the same foil and the same wing…without really pumping too much 😯).
- Imperceptible extra length: a large part of the extra length is behind me, put side by side with my Lemon 5’2 by aligning the position of the mast that I use on these two boards, the Cruzader only exceeds the Lemon by 2 cm!
- The narrow width and the pointed tips help enormously when surfing, nothing touches the water, you can take more angles and the rail to rail rocker is sharp since you don’t have the width of the board to move.
- Balancing the volume and masses around the mast makes pumping easier and less tiring.
- The 3 lines of inserts on the back foot give me the adjustment to be strapped with my natural stance, I gain power and control, I finally want to jump🫣.
- Tacks and jibes still go just as well 👌.
In short, super happy with this transition, the beauty of the object and the seriousness of the construction, the choice of board bag to protect it (perfect fit with the the 6’6XL board bag!).”
