FEEDBACK: CATCH KITE FOIL BOARD FSP 2X

Feedback from Cyril on the forum who could have several sessions on the Catch FSP 2X Kite Foil Board in 4’0 and 4’4.

“I share with you my feedback from numerous board tests with the 4’0 and 4’4. I’m a kite foiler of an advanced level, strapless ride and 78/80 kg.

First of all the 4’4, this size does it all!

Very easy to waterstart, it’s easy to manage and comfy during the first meters. The nose stays in line and does not point downwind in the first second, avoiding the wipe-outs forward when waterstarting. It allows you to easily get out of the water by immediately picking up speed.

In sailing it is a treat, it is already very manageable without being “extreme” like the 4’0. Overcoming touchdowns is easy ‘cause its length and the large double concave avoid pearling or braking hard. In waves and carving, the super thin rails remain free, you barely feel if you rub the water in the curves and you are above all not destabilized!

The 4’0 is of course more performance oriented, a real skate under your feet!

Super easy to handle, feeling of having nothing under your feet and being directly connected to the foil The touchdowns are less easy than with the 4’4 but once again, in 80% of cases the concave does its job and gets you out of the water very quickly. Even though it is short, it is not a board only for Pros! With a fairly powerful front wing like a Curve or even Fluid M, you spend very little time on the water. Usually you send the kite and the board is already in the air! So having a very playful board but which remains tolerant like the Catch is not too complicated.

Overall no matter the size, they are very playful.

The compactness of the shape really allows you to play with the foil, there will always be little inertia which facilitates maneuvers such as jibes or tacks.

For complete beginners looking for ease or super light wind, still prefer the 4’6 and 4’8 which will help you with the glide at the start and will keep volume on the front which will limit pearling when constantly going up and down in your beginnings!“
