FEEDBACK: CATCH FSP 2X

The qualities of the Catch FSP 2X in freestyle are great assets for your first kitesurfing sessions on a surfboard, namely its control and stability, as Aymeric explains on our forum.

“A little feedback about my recent debut in kiting on the Catch. I have been surfing for 20 years, longboard, shortboard, SUP, I have always dreamed of optimizing my sesh count with kiteboarding during sessions that are too messy to surf in. My program quickly switched from TT on the flat and sending airs to surfing the waves!!!
I first started in TT because having strapped feet and also learning the transitions little by little was easier. After about fifteen sessions I was ready, I switched to a Catch FSP 2X 5’4 (I weigh 65kg) to get into wave riding. Straight in strapless, I find that it offers more freedom and a glide specific to surfing.
Of course the surfing experience helps me a lot to find my bearings on the position of the feet and also for the transitions.
The Catch for beginners on a directional board is awesome.
Because it offers a generous volume, a wide tail to accentuate the stability and its mounting in thruster allows to have pivot in the maneuvers.
For the kites I am using the Unik 13 and Unik 9. So perfect in light winds and in 20 knots ++. These models are fun, easy to fly and also to relaunch again. For a novice like me, they are reassuring and do the job very well both in sailing around and in the waves.
The GONG gear has therefore allowed me to realize my dream of kitesurfing for a more than economical budget when you start practicing and when you have to equip yourself completely.”
