The Batmob is aimed at a very wide audience ranging from complete beginners to experienced surfers who want a fun board in conditions that might not look that fun. This is exactly why David chose it. To surf the ordinary conditions of his home spot

“I took the Batmob 7’2 in addition to my longboard to surf soft waves. Just to have a different surf feel in these mellow conditions which make up most of my sessions. I first thought I had chosen an oversized board because it really feels wide under the arm. Ultimately this is what I needed. It easily lifts my 80kg. The take-offs are almost as early as with my longboard and the best surprise is its behavior on the wave. Despite its size, I really had a shortboard feeling. I could do turns that are out of the question with my 9-foot longboard.

It develops a surprising maneuverability for its volume.

The back foot sits just above the fins and it turns on the spot. I’ve only tried it with a quad fin set-up so far because I wanted acceleration on soft sections. Looking forward to trying it in hollower conditions.”
