One of the most noticeable differences between the Ayto and the Ayto Aramid DP is the kite’s increased speed, driven by the reduced leading-edge diameter and double skin, as Bastien experienced first-hand after testing the Aramid DP in 12m².

A 12m² kite that turns like a 9m²
"Following up on my August 21, 2024 feedback about the recently acquired Ayto kites, I'm returning in 2025 after purchasing and testing a 12m² Ayto Aramid DP.
To summarize my 2024 opinion, I really enjoyed the standard Ayto kites and even more so the Aramid DP versions. However, I found the smaller Aramid DP sizes excessively fast (even though I love lively kites!), and I suggested the 11m² or 12m² would be ideal to complement a standard quiver since standard sizes are enjoyable in smaller and medium sizes but a bit sluggish in larger sizes—I previously had the standard 11m².
In 2025, I finally made the leap and got myself a 12m² Ayto Aramid DP to complement my standard Ayto kites in 7m² and 9m².
Honestly, this 12m² is impressive—it's reactive, direct in steering, and provides fantastic lift. The 12m² Ayto DP turns approximately like the standard 9m² Ayto, which is excellent. It's capable of performing kiteloops, although I was missing some catch in the light wind I had that day. I required a bit more height in loops but the day's wind conditions (12 to 17 knots) didn’t allow it.”

"This is the liveliest 12m² kite I've ever flown. I tried surfing the small waves of the day during weak southeast winds; clearly, in its low range, drifting is not its forte! But then again, that's not its intended use—and you'd be right to point that out!
I can't wait to test it in stronger winds to perform jumps and well-powered kiteloops with a lot of catch; successfully looping a 12m² kite would be a first for me...
I'm very keen to test the Elips DP models for wave riding—I hope I'll have the opportunity soon!"
