FEEDBACK: ALU EPS

Several shortboards in our range are characterized by a lot of drive, for instance the Devil’s Tongue, the Fork or the Alu. It is the latter that caught the attention of David who shares his first impressions here.

“After two years without touching a shortboard, I wanted to get back to it to experience the liveliness that I’m missing on a longboard. I chose the Alu because it seemed to have promising drive and a performance-oriented shape. Once in possession of the board, I hit the road for a mini-trip to the spots of the southwest of France where I could see that its accelerations are solid indeed! I was (almost) systematically ahead of the section with this board whereas it was rather the opposite on my old shortboard… No difficulty during the take offs which are ultra fluid. On the wave, you can directly focus on the action. No need to pump down the line, it accelerates on its own.
What surprised me the most was that I immediately found my bearings.
What a pleasure to rediscover the maneuverability of a shortboard and to be able to drop hollow sections. No problem with the grip with the quad set-up. As I have two sets of fins I also mounted it as a thruster but I felt like I was losing drive. To be tested when there are better conditions to place “big” carves! Delighted with my choice!”
