FEEDBACK : 6'10 BATMOB WCKF !!!

“A short feedback on the WCKF Batmob 6’10 (my size: 1.73m, 72 kg). During one of my sessions on my 6’ hybrid Shortboard I broke a Fin doing a Roller, strat torn away => back to the car and I got back into the water with the Batmob which is usually used by my sister (sized 1.60m, 45 kg). Spot: reef, fairly long wave, medium speed but some stone sections that need to be handled at the right time, not too hollow but not too soft. The take-offs are very easy, you place yourself as with a Longboard, it goes really fast and allows to be already standing before the wave kicks up. It is certainly more bulky than a Shortboard but much more manoeuvrable than a Longboard, you don’t have to move your feet constantly to turn. On the contrary the Board is tolerant, mistakes in placement are forgiven rather well. It easily gains speed (tested on a quad), it allows you to get ahead of the wave and pass through the soft spots without necessarily mastering the pumping. It is not demanding or technical. I went back to the water two more times with instead of the Shortboard and each time the same conclusion, I get much less tired and enjoy many more waves. For a beginner : it seems indeed ideal to get to the intermediate phase before passing to the Shortboard. For an intermediate : it should be taken on days when you are tired, when you don’t want a too technical Board but you just want to catch waves easily without necessarily taking a Longboard. Next sessions I’ll switch to TRI FIN to try to gain in manoeuvrability. I would be curious to test the smaller sizes 6’6 and 6′ and in EPS to see the differences, if someone has that in Finistère!! PS : WCKF construction is rock solid ! And is quickly forgotten in the water.” Find this surfboard on the online shop. Surfer : Gaëtan and his GONG Surf 6’10 Batmob WCKF.
