FACTORY : 7'11 SUPERFAST MADE IN LA FRANCE !!!

Our Workshop in La Baule, in the west of France, is the place where l’Ours not only makes prototypes of future shapes and technologies for series production, but also more personalised Boards. This is the case of this magnificent 7’11 Superfast, which is based on the dimensions of a Pie 7’11 PU but with a very different tail work. The major axis is speed with good volume for strong paddling and a powerful rear foot when surfing that projects you forward. This mid-length with marked channels can be surfed with a modern Twin or with a central trailer depending on the degree of directional stability you are looking for. Techno wise we are on a high quality PU Arctic blank with a wide slat, a 6oz plus tail reinforcement on the hull and two 6oz on the deck. For decoration, Beryl applied a white tinted resin on the deck. For the hull, we find L’Ours and Beryls markl with a radical deco that they softened with a cloudy hot coat. This mix of white and translucent is rather thick and non homogeneous giving a milky aspect that gives a superb depth to the pattern. To apply this hot coat without mixing it in a plain shade, L’Ours and Beryl put the Board on the strat trestles and tilted it to distribute the hot coat as they wanted it on the hull. This very specific look is achieved by doing exactly what you shouldn’t do. Apply a large amount and do not smooth it or pull it with a brush. Only gravity has done its work, which means a big sanding job that must be very precise so as not to spoil the expected effect. Doing the opposite of the classic method is obviously impossible in large series, and that’s what gives all the charm of this unique Board.
