EVENT: HIPE PRO 5'3

Going straight from the hands of our ambassador Yohann to that of Pierre during the HIPE Pro Tour, the latter shares his first impressions on our Facebook page.
“I tested the 5’3 a few minutes ago, it’s really great! And yet on paper a big loss of comfort for my 98kg (without wetsuit and all…) compared to my usual Flint 5’8. Yet it’s going without a problem, I’m at the limit of comfort, but it’s great… The take-off is smooth and the touchdowns are really soft, the round outline slides well on the water when it hits it hard and makes the nose bounce back up gently .
The comfort of having an indestructible inflatable is great,
it gives mental peace that allows you to let go. No difference in piloting or precision, it’s like a rigid board…
Just a small downside for me: I would have liked the front footstrap inserts to be 3-4 cm further forward. I managed to compensate for it, but when I stopped, if I wasn’t completely on the front foot, the rear would sink completely and I would lose my balance while there is still some surface in front. And above all still quite a lot of pad surface, it’s weird to see them so far back like that. This position is surely better suited for shorter/lighter riders… In flight I was not bothered though, it’s just when I’m static before taking off. The positioning of the straps in relation to the center of the board doesn’t seem to suit my taste, but it’s surely also thanks to that that it takes off so easily without the risk of pearling, now that I think of it. And I’m already 10L below my comfort volume, so it’s normal that I’m a little challenged…”
