PLACING YOUR FEET

First step

First you’re going to ride with the front foot flat, a dropped knee, and you stabilize. This foot must go in the front strap as fast as possible because the huge interest of the strap is to be able to pull on the foot to control the board. The sooner you can exert this pressure, the more stable you will be. This is very important on a small Board.

Second step

Your back foot will come down a little bit downwind, so that you can distribute the pressure of your two feet on each side of the centerline of your board. Otherwise, the board will take a trajectory that you don’t want, or even turn under your feet, making you fall onto the foil…

The rear foot should be just in front of the rear strap, with a comfortable stance. Having the feet wide apart is counterproductive. The back foot is perpendicular to the axis of the board.

Key points

  • Front foot first.
  • Slide the front foot as fast as possible into the strap.
  • Control with the front foot.
  • Rear foot in front of the back strap and 5cm downwind.
  • Be fast and precise.
