Your first flight will be the result of a succession of correctly executed steps. With practice, these will happen naturally. Our complete How To covers the 7 steps you need to acquire to launch your first flight and all the following ones.

After organizing your start, it’s time to get on the board.   Wing foiler : Patrice, boss and shaper GONG, en Cruzader Point FSP Pro et Droid UPE Aramid X.

Here are the key points to overcome the second step:

  • Place your hands between the straps. As you will be putting your weight upwind with your body in the first phase, place your hands slightly downwind to maintain good overall board balance. Without this placement, it will capsize and you may land on your back in the water.
  • Support yourself on your hands, the wing in one hand.
  • Stand on your hands, extending your arms.
  • Throw yourself forward, straightening up to get on the board.
  • Pelvis against the board and arms outstretched, you find a certain balance.
  • Watch out for foot movements when getting on the board. 80% of the impacts with the foil occur at this moment.
  • Another push and you go to your knees on the board.
  • You are on the board. Wing back, the board is pointing to the wind. Wing forward, the board is pointing downwind.
