Black Filler
Description
Nautix Black Filler Microporosity Filler is a two-component epoxy filler designed to fill microporosity in carbon surfaces and repair impacts on foils. Its fine texture allows for the preparation or repair of carbon or epoxy substrates before the application of a protective coating. Its semi-transparent black tint remains discreet on exposed carbon parts. The product can be used both above and below the waterline.
Its solvent-free and non-shrink formulation facilitates a smooth surface after drying. The filler is applied with a spatula to a clean, dry, grease-free, and mechanically prepared surface. Mix equal parts base and hardener by weight. Depending on the temperature, the product becomes sandable after 6 to 24 hours and should be finished with wet sanding using P400 grit sandpaper. The renovated surface should then be protected with a Nautix PE, HPE, or Epoxygard primer, or with a varnish. This filler should not be coated with gelcoat or any polyester-based product.
