Surf Winstone EPS Pro
Program
The most buoyant noserider in the range for soft waves.
Presentation
The Winstone is an extreme board fully dedicated to noseriding in soft waves, pushing the limits of the traditional longboard with a classic but reimagined shape and technology designed to maximize every second spent on the nose.
Positioned as a direct evolution of the Frank and Incredible Ten, it adopts the traditional codes of pure noseriding while amplifying them through radical shape choices and a carbon EPS technology that revolutionizes its ride.
Its very generous total surface is finely distributed, notably through a graceful outline curve in its rear third despite an exceptionally wide tail. This surface, combined with significant volume and its substantial round nose, makes the Winstone a top performer in noserides and movement on sluggish waves.
This very wide tail holds a large volume of water when positioned on the nose, providing a powerful leverage effect that automatically stabilizes and lifts the board's nose. This places the rider in perfect balance, naturally maintaining the trajectory on or above the trim line.
The much steeper and more pronounced rear rocker is the defining element of this shape. It helps temper the board’s natural speed to avoid prematurely escaping the pocket of the wave. We want time on the nose, so a board that doesn’t go for the shoulder the moment we walk forward.
The pronounced rocker line in the rear third creates a rail curve that will naturally bring the board back into the wave, enhancing nose performance. This tail rocker also boosts maneuverability and facilitates turning, despite the board’s large surface.
The Winstone’s rails, true to traditional 50-50s, offer extremely smooth and fluid glide. However, the tail is sharp with hard rails at the very back to preserve glide despite the significant kick tail, and to radicalize committed turns.
The EPS Pro carbon technology further sets the Winstone apart. This innovative construction gives it unparalleled responsiveness in this longboard category. Contrary to popular belief, this rigidity provides consistent shape retention under load, ensuring refined handling and increased precision, enriching every movement on the board and maximizing time on the nose.
The Winstone paddles early and constantly maintains a perfect flow. This board is designed for surfers seeking the ultimate noserider, with extreme and extended nose postures, turning sluggish waves into memorable sessions.
Whether for endless hang tens or simply enjoying the unmatched sensation of perfect balance on the nose, the Winstone embodies the pinnacle of noseriders for soft waves.
Outline
The Winstone’s outline focuses on noserides with an obviously very generous nose and a wide tail. This tail flows into a smooth outline line that doesn’t exaggerate the rear surface, preserving the Winstone’s natural speed in soft waves. Too much traction at the tail is avoided, even at the cost of some maneuverability, which, in the waves targeted by the Winstone, will mainly come from stalls.
The wide point is moderate for a board of this volume to maintain excellent paddling.
Rocker
The Winstone’s rocker is very particular. It’s very low at the nose and rises sharply approaching the tail. You could almost call it a top rocker given how much importance is placed on the board’s ability to retain water at the tail to stay perfectly in line and in the pocket of the wave, maximizing time on the nose. Obviously, a flat nose and lifted tail will boost glide on the nose and radicalize stalls and turns.
Tail
The Winstone’s tail is generous, of course, but not excessive. It maintains a certain softness in the rear third and delicacy in its curves to avoid being cumbersome despite the abrupt look of its square tail. But it’s there — and it’s solid — to allow you out-of-this-world drop knee turns and a great glide in small waves.

Buying guide
For whom?
The Winstone is aimed at longboarders passionate about pure noseriding, looking for a board entirely dedicated to this niche of longboarding. Its shape is designed to maximize time spent on the nose, offering a perfect balance between lift and smoothness.
It will suit both experienced longboarders and intermediate surfers looking to refine their style and progress in the classic log repertoire. The Winstone is not a versatile board or a radical modern longboard: it’s for those who seek ultra-stylish glide, clean trajectories, stalls, and nose flow.
For what?
It’s a board designed for noseriding, where the goal is to play with the wave without seeking the radicality of modern maneuvers. Its wide tail and dedicated rocker almost automatically lock the board into the line with disconcerting ease, ensuring perfect stability during noserides.
With the Winstone, everything is designed to match the surfing to the wave and extract its essence. It naturally follows the right trajectory and lets the surfer focus on placement and style, without struggle or loss of control.
Ideal waves?
The Winstone is shaped for small waves, where it can express its full potential.
It excels in knee- to hip-high conditions, especially in long, soft waves that allow for line work and maximizing time on the nose. It’s perfect for pointbreaks, slow beachbreaks, and spots that peel cleanly without too much power.
It’s not made for critical surfing or fast conditions. Its shape prioritizes glide and control, not radicality.
What size?

What fins?
Fin choice plays a crucial role in the Winstone’s behavior.
- A single fin (10” to 11”) is recommended, with a generous base to ensure maximum control and stability during noserides. It may limit speed and mobility, however.
- A pivot-style fin will maintain line hold and lock the board under the nose if over 10”. It will offer more speed and freedom than a very wide fin across its entire length.
- For more responsiveness and slightly more playful surfing, a fin with a bit more rake can be considered, but the Winstone’s spirit is primarily about restrained, elegant glide, not maneuverability.
- A single setup is essential to respect the Winstone’s pure noserider program and fully enjoy its unique flow.
