Surf Alu EPS Pro
For a modern and aerial surf.
Program
Acceleration and wicked airs, the Alu is ideal in mediocre waves and has the potential to create a very modern and aerial surf.
Presentation
L’Ours proposes a new Shape for the Alu to modernize this Board and make it even more efficient in its core program: the everyday waves.
If you can only have one Shortboard, it’s the Alu one!
Unless you are staying in front of Pipeline, chances are your usual conditions will be waves that require a lot of boost and relaunch. This is the definition of the Alu.
We still keep front third thin but with a little thickness, about a few millimeters, through the center for rowing comfort.
The tail is revisited with some park style sauce added! We have a wide diamond tail that propels the Alu into Mach II at the first impulse.
This strong presence of the rear foot is skillfully balanced by a set of wingers just behind the release point of the lateral ones to loosen up the tail at the end of the turns.
The hull work is also designed for water release and make it easier to get on the rail. Its ultra-modern look invites you to blast 360 pops and airs in all directions! The quad is no longer trend, and yet it is the fetish Fin set-up of the Alu that you’ll find in these two rear quad laterals a clear and precise support grip to push your moves to their fullest, even in soft waves.
A rocker and rails that scream competition, a more intelligent volume distribution, and a clearly maximized surface between the supports; this is what makes the Alu the essential board in your quiver.
Ideal Waves
- Size: from a knee size to a decent man’s size.
- Strength: she gives its best in soft waves but not only that ?
- Type: it really goes everywhere but prefers the glassy, like all of us do.
In a nutshell
- Rocker: relatively tense for acceleration, close to 99% of a competitive rocker.
- Rails: clearly identified Comp, hard and sharp at the tail and round at the nose.
- Volume: in the standards for crazy performance.
- Outline: wide and with lift, thin nose.
- Tail: Diamond Tail with Wingers for the best acceleration / agility combo.
- Nose: thin pointed nose to reduce inertia and facilitate radical moves.
- Deck: flat for control.
- Bottom: double concave and concave at the tail for maximum grip despite the wide tail.
- Fins: thruster or Quad.

How to properly glue your pads?
The question of the pad often comes down to an aesthetic choice for the look of your board. But what seems like luxury to non-pros is actually a huge help.
If surfing is the art of placement then you need to put your feet properly on the board. And what better than a touch marker to know, ok, I’m at the sweet spot for this turn.?
Sticking good pads is therefore essential. They will signal to your feet whether they are in the perfect position or not.
You still have to stick them properly, and some get very creative…
